Sweet hair and kicks, Operetta!
For those of you who don't know (probably all of you, considering you're not weirdos like me), Operetta is one of Mattel's "Monster High" fashion dolls. Most of the dolls are crafted after classic "monsters" and other creepy creatures, often claiming to be their fashion-forward children of today. And I love it. (By the way, Operetta is the rockabilly daughter of the Phantom of the Opera if you couldn't see the resemblance.) I don't know why I'm so taken with these dolls. I think it could be the fact that making something dark and fashionable tickles my creativity bone. Also, the slogan for the dolls is "Be Yourself. Be Unique. Be a Monster.", so that's something to applaud too. The line does have quite a few characters for not being that old. Every girl (and cool boy) can find a doll they can relate to in some way. My only suggestion other than to keep on doing what they're doing is for Mattel to make a bigger gal. I mean, I get that they're dead, so they probably don't eat much, but what about the bigger-boned girl? Just a thought. So, I'm guessing you're all wondering why I'm talking about dolls today...
I actually just meant to use the image to talk about how I've come up with a fun way to share more style inspiration among readers, but you all know how I like to ramble. Anyway, I've been looking for a good, trustworthy music player for the blog, but unfortunately have yet to find one. I even signed up for a couple sites to make playlists just to be disappointed in the track quality or even the selection. I don't know if I'll ever find a good gadget for the sidebar, but it'd be great if I could. Music is an important ingredient in my styling process. You see, when I'm getting dressed I play songs that fit my mood, and in turn help form the outfit to a deeper degree. If you've never tried this before, give it a shot with the songs I've come up with! Lately I've been in that dark/menacing-sort-of-mood, and this playlist is to style looks that fit into that category. So, without further adieu, I present the Spooky Spring Playlist...
